About Sage...
Sage was born in Montana. When she was a puppy she lived with a family with children, then, when she was about 1 1/2 years of age, she left that family to live with Gayle and Greg Irwin in Casper, Wyoming. Her new veternarian, Dr. Johnson, told the Irwins that Sage had a disease called Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA - degeneration/deteriation of the eye); this disease would cause her to become blind. Within a year, Sage could no longer see -- she was completely blind. Sage had to adjust not only to a different home and different people, but she also had to learn her way around that new home with no sight. Sage is now 10 years old, and she's had many, many adventures in life, and she really enjoys her life despite her disability.
