“For any child – or adult – who has ever felt or been ‘different’, this is definitely a ‘must read’ book. We feel Sage’s fear and confusion. We applaud her intelligence and her courage to adapt. We also, with Sage, feel thankful for ‘her people’, who love her, teach her, and nurture her spirit. This book is a compellingly-written chronicle of the power of love and hope.” Lyndalee A. Berger, Writer, Educator, Parent, Grandparent - Ft Collins, CO

Dear Mrs. Irwin: It is so wonderful for you to write such a great book for children. I will be using your book with our HIV/AIDS children as an educational tool. All children need exposure to the many disabilities we continue to be challenged by, especially our group as they face the daily struggle of being different. Again, I thank you. Eva Eddings - Medical Care Manager, North Carolina

About Cody's Cabin...:
Cody's Cabin: Life in a Pine Forest relates the tale of Cody the Cocker Spaniel, as he explores a forest near his family's cabin. Children learn about the many types of plants and animals found in a Rocky Mountain forest. They will delight at Cody's antics as he chases squirrels and hold their breath as he encounters a black bear. Not just a cute short story, this book is also a useful educational tool and includes a Nature Journal through which children are encouraged to get outdoors and explore -- just like Cody does!

Wyoming educator Chris Lenihan says this about the book:
Cody’s Cabin: Life in a Pine Forest takes young readers on a journey to the mountains through the eyes, ears and nose of an inquisitive and energetic cocker spaniel. Author Gayle Irwin entertains as well as educates her readers through Cody’s woodland experiences and through her encouragement to children to get outdoors with the provision of a nature journal at the end of the book.
